The Case Study

This truly stunning multi-use development overlooks the Holy Harem in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The statistics speak for themselves. A built-up area of I.8m square meters the site area consists of a 13-story podium, housing, retail facilities, food courts, specialty restaurants, car parking and mechanical areas topped by seven towers reaching up 550 meters. The project has over 75,000 residents and contains over 800 retail outlets. Into this gigantic development, DSP introduced a remarkable converged network capable of delivering 18 separate services. This makes it one of the largest converged IP networks in a closed complex in the world.

Featuring a proprietary management and billing integration platform, the network will simplify the delivery of a huge range of services through over 65,000 individual outlets. IP Services so far implemented include but not limited to, telephony, video conferencing, TV and video on demand, advertising, public address, hotel lock, access control and CCTV. All utility metering is incorporated into the system, making billing infinitely easier than with conventional approaches.

Add a comprehensive building management system into the mix and you have a truly revolutionary approach to systems integration for the 21st century. The scale, ambition and success of the King Abdul Aziz Endowment Project bear testimony to the wealth of talent, expertise and dedication to excellence of the DSP team.
